A Hiabun for the end of Summer

Summer is slipping away, and fall is standing by. The seasons change, and the days are shorter and the weather cooler. It won’t be long before the trees shed their leaves as winter nears.

I find the seasons enticing and magical. Each settles in, but only for a short time. Almost in continuous motion, the four seasons march along, counting our days and setting the pace of our lives.

Every morning, I sit outside or where I can see outside, often contemplating this miracle and mystery that unfolds four times a year and how each season is unique and different. But most of all, I like how the littlest of things can show that change is inevitable. Something new is right around the corner.

Enjoy today’s Hiaku, my morning thought.

Quiet Graden

Rain soft cool daybreak.
Bird bee and butterfly hide.
My garden quiet.

I find it humbling that people read what I write, so thank you! Please clap, follow, and comment if you like my poetry.
